Dragons
Fierce and fire breathing, dragons are one of the most feared creatures in the Rune Hunters world. In the past, dragons have been captured and put to use for military purposes. They are seen as not just a powerful attack force on the battlefield, but also as force of fear against any opposing groups. A group of enigmatic dragon trainers exists, but little is known about their order and dragon training techniques.
Sand Worms
Incredibly large creatures that live in desert regions. Notorious throughout the Crimson Wind Empire, sand worms are a nuisance to all desert travelers. It is common knowledge that death in the desert is the result of one of three things: dehydration, heat stroke or sand worm death. While not normally seen on journeys through the desert, their presence has resulted in an entire branch of the Crimson Wind military dedicated to creating tactics for defeating these creatures.
Ada, Lucian and Ada’s men had run in with one of these creatures during their time in the desert. Due to Ada’s training as an Imperial Guard and not an actual soldier, she was ill prepared for the task at hand.
Carrot Men
Not much is known about these subterranean dwellers. They are rarely ever seen by humans, and most people don’t even think they exist.
Hodags
Carnivorous forest creature that is the thing of local folk legend. While accounts of these creatures describe them as monstrous beasts, their actual appearance is deceptively cute. However, they are armed with an array of fangs, horns and spines and are dangerous predators. However, they usually shy away from human contact and are not as much of a threat to travelers as legend describes them.
While making their way through the woods, Asura ran into a hodag that she quickly adopted as a pet.
Schumels
Beasts of burden within the Crimson Wind Empire, these creatures are a common form of transportation through the large desert. Docile and friendly, Schumels are one of the tamest creatures in the Rune Hunters world.
